November Elections

Wednesday, October 9, 2002, 7-10:30 p.m.

Do the elections tend to sneak up on you before you've had time to learn about the candidates, the issues, the propositions, etc? Need help understanding the details? Join us for a PolitiKafe-moderated DINNER PARTY, where you'll meet intelligent and thoughtful people, have a great time, and learn (or share your knowledge) about the people and the issues on this year's ballot.

The party will be held at a San Francisco restaurant. We'll provide each table with information on election related topics (e.g., CA State Propositions, CA Candidates) and a moderator to facilitate the discussions.

Restaurant: Empress of China, 838 Grant Avenue (between Clay & Washington - map), San Francisco

Join us in the lounge from 7-8 and have a drink with other attendees – dinner starts at 8 p.m.

Cost: cost of your food, entrees are $12+

TRANSPORTATION: MUNI accessible; PARKING: the Bush/Sutter/Stockton garages is walking distance and cheap after 6 p.m.

LIMITED SEATING. Advance Registration REQUIRED

Moderators: Leena Prasad, Sunil Maulik, Arun Nemani

References: No prior knowledge is required - you can show up just to learn from others who are knowledgeable in the area. We'll provide some material on the day of the party and hyperlinks on the website before the event. (...please send suggestions to Leena Prasad)

CA State Propositions is an index of the SEVEN propositions on this year's ballot. The site contains a summary, fiscal impact, meaning of voting Yes/No, arguments for and against, and a contact number for more information.
